California is known for its brilliant orange groves and gorgeous sunrises, which are perfect locations to enjoy citrus sensations such as citrus cannabis strains. Many of these orange cannabis strains are bred to be tall, skinny with wide leaves. This makes it look more impressive while flowering and during fruiting.

These attributes make these cannabis plants ideal for growing large, beautiful flowers.

Citrus Sunshine

Citrus Sunshine is a big, bold orange cannabis strain. The citrusy smell and flavor make this one of the more noticeable cannabis strains you will ever taste.

Citrus Sunshine has a strong smell of oranges, lemons, and grapefruits. It also has a very sweet flavor that is mostly orange with a slight lemon edge.

When smoked, Citrus Sunshine produces an intense aroma and flavor that last about an hour on your stomach. It is recommended to take it first and then smoke anything else because its heavy effects can make things feel hard to get out of.

It is not recommended to eat or drink Citrus sunshine because it is so powerful.

Morango

Morango is a powerful orange cannabis strain. It has a strong pine-like odor and taste that is similar to pine needles.

Morango does not do well outside of its origins so make sure to learn how to care for it. You will need a greenhouse or a special tool to move it.

Its growth rate is slow, taking around six months to three years for it to mature. During this time it can struggle finding nutrients and developing strength.

If you are looking into growing citrus strains, try one of the orange Kush or Morango plants. Both of them are powerful enough for large crops, but with the same amount of nutrients needed.

Granddaddy Purp

Purp is known for its sweet, fruity flavor.

Tang Tang Tang

Tang Tang Tang is another favorite citrus scent. Like most Thai spices, Tang is found in many flavors, so it is not too difficult to find.

Tang is an H-happiness spice, often used in Thai cuisine. Since it is an H-happiness spice, it is readily available and cost effective as a flavor. This makes it a nice fit for cannabis, as it can add flavor to cannabis products.

As you can imagine, the name of this spice was a perfect fit for cannabis: Tang means circle or shape in Thai. This was not just an accident! Once again, Big Buds found the right name for this strain.

That said, there are several variations of this breed that do not have the tangetti cap (aka tang) on the end of the barrel.

707 Headband

707 Headband is a powerful and unique orange cannabis strain. It is also one of the more expensive strains in dispensaries.

Paraphrased from the stick-figure drawing below, 707 Headband looks like a long, thin orange peel with large pith pockets along its length. Its diameter is approximately 1 inch at its thickest point.

It has very sparsely distributed roots and you will need an extra root system to hold it in position during flowering. It must be vented during winter hardening as it will not freeze well.

It does not grow very tall but does grow strong branches which are edible.

Frostbite

Frostbite is a pretty new addition to the cannabinoid kingdom. He is a male version of the same orange strain that was gender swapped and given the Frostbite moniker.

Frostbite is aIndica-dominant plant that grows up to 2 feet in length. He is also co-dominant in Indica and Sativa strains, making him an excellent choice for medicinal purposes.

He is not for recreational use as he does not contain enough THC to be considered relaxed. However, he is great for medicinal uses such as treating anxiety or treating symptoms of inflammation and pain.

His name comes from the white snow that falls during his season, which looks like frost on the leaves.

Tahoe Blue

Tahoe Blue is a powerful and distinctive orange cannabis strain. It has a distinct flavor that is reminiscent of orange juice, with hints of grapefruit and pine.

Tahoe Blue is not for the beginner, as it is more complex and decorated with extra flavors. However, it is for advanced users, as it can be very strong.

Some people find it to be too intense, so they do not use it once a week rather than twice! Still, if you are looking for a new orange strain to try, give Tahoe Blue a try.

You might be able to find it at some green-store-type places or on the Internet; however, we suggest you go ahead and seek your plantroduction somewhere open because of its sensitive nature.

Cherry Pie

Cherry pie is a relatively new addition to the world of cannabis edibles. Found in several major cannabis brands, this strain is named for its signature cherry pie odor and flavor.

Cherry pie is an orange flower with some green leaf structure. It is moderately CBD content and marketed as a body rub due to its pleasant scent.

Because it is marketed as a decorative scracher, many Cherry Pie strains are sold on Amazon as “white” or “light” Goldens, which are typically less potent than standard Goldens. This can lead to trouble when trying to enjoy one of these strains at home without a higher dose.
