But as we discussed earlier, purchasing cannabis is not for everyone.

Buy your marijuana and leave with it
The best way to get a medical marijuana card in California is to buy your marijuana and leave with it. This allows you to transfer your card to a new home or business as well as allows you to cultivate your own plants.
There are two ways to purchase your marijuana. You can go to a dispensary or buy it online. At a dispensary, you can also grow your plants.
It is important to note that when you buy your marijuana at a dispensary, they will still charge taxes. However, because the tax is so small, most dispensaries will let you keep it anyway.
If you want to grow your own plants but do not have access to a plant farm, then you can leave the state and pick up some more cannabis! Many fields allow for this type of transportation.
Keep your card safe
A medical marijuana card in California is called a Healthcare Prescription Drug & Medical Marijuana Card. Like any ID, you must be legally allowed to possess and use medical marijuana in order to apply for a card.
To be eligible for a card, you must be at least 18 years old and have been diagnosed with at least one major condition that produces muscle spasms, seizures, or severe nausea.
You must also live in an eligible county or municipality where at least one official gives permission for cultivation, possession, and use of medical marijuana.

Update your card if you change information
If you change your address, phone number, or email address on your medical marijuana card, you must update your information.
It does not keep up with changes in account information, so you must do it every year. It also does not apply to people who have a new doctor if they update their info with the new doctor.
