In California, there is a distinction made between two types of cannabis: top-grade and lower-grade. Top-grade cannabis is considered to be more expensive, has a higher THC content, and requires a medical marijuana card to use.

Top-grade cannabis is also called specialty weed or hard weed. Specialty weed can have high concentrations of CBD, which does not affect the psychoactive properties of THC. This is why it is considered less potent than regular weed: when used as an herb, it must be taken slightly softened so that it can work its way into the lungs fully.

Because of this, CBD herbs can take hours to start noticing effects on you. Some people use them for stress relief, but the fact that it takes time to experience effects may turn people away.

Price of weed

What Does

As mentioned earlier, there are several grades of marijuana. These grades include regular, hash, isolate, and terpene.

Standardized marijuana is able to be broken into pieces and packaged in a way that allows for different amounts of CBD and THC, the compounds that make marijuana different categories.

It is now legal to sell standard weed in California, but it is still a little weird. You can’t just buy as much as you want, you can’t designate a certain amount of weed per person, and you can’t put your name on it.

Genetic origins of your weed

There’s a reason people call some strain of cannabis cannabis that isn’t strain top-shelf. It is called top-shelf due to the amount of money that is required to grow and produce higher quality product.

The term top-shelf has several meanings, but in this case it refers to high genetic quality, expensive marijuana. In the marijuana world, a plant that is top-shelled is more expensive than lower quality plants with less THC content.

Although there are only a few plants with very little THC content, some cultivators will use them because they look more impressive or value to sell them at a higher price.

Potency of your weed

What Does

When talking about weed, there are certain terms that people use to refer to the substance they are smoking, such as:Desktop marijuana, concentrate, hashish, flower, and Plant material. Each of these words has a different meaning when referring to marijuana.

Flower Marijuana refers to the powder or solidified liquid that is placed in a capsule or tablet format and consumed. This is what is known as concentrate. Plant material refers to the buds that have been chopped up and prepared like hashish.

All of these words can have the same effect on your body and mind, but some people prefer one over the other for different reasons. For example, some people prefer a softer effect on their bodies than others do.

Dosing is the process of taking small amounts of medication every day or every week, depending on whether you are taking concentrate, flower, or plant material.

Smell and taste of your weed

What Does

While it is legal to buy “top shelf” cannabis, it is not always top notch. Most places that are listed as “top shelf” are not all that good quality.

Some companies submarines their products so that you have to pay more for the higher grade weed. This happens more in Canada than in the United States, due to how tight of quality control there is.

Some sellers use shampure or some other excuse to put higher priced weed on the shelves. It is important to look for seller reviews and ratings in order to avoid being taken advantage of.

Also, check for seller feedback as some will just sell you low quality product and hide it on purpose. So much money can be made off of someone with no sense of quality control.

Visibility of your weed

What Does

There’s a good reason why some shops call their weed top-shelf: It’s highly visible!

Many shops offer outdoor space, alcoves, or painted walls to create a more formalistic environment. These space are used to display products and events, so it is capitalized when referring to weed.

In addition to showing off the product, this is an important way for producers to get noticed by distributors and retailers. It can be difficult to spot, as only those with very high amounts of weed in front of you will acknowledge that you have it!

This is not a rule for all producer groups; some have production rates that do not meet the standards for production being visible.

Stigma of smoking marijuana

What Does

While it is still illegal in many places, people in the United Kingdom are beginning to experiment with marijuana for recreational use. In some places, such as Colorado, this has been a long-time social norm.

It’s not just about the THC content

What Does

In addition to being referred to as “top shelf,” premium marijuana products are also distinguished by their THC content. Many dispensaries offer “high quality” marijuana, which is purchased by the gram and contains more THC. This is usually a smaller batch of product produced with special care for quality assurance purposes.

When looking for marijuana, you can be confronted with two kinds of weed: legal and illegalotheatrestage.

Legal recreational marijuana is not restricted to any one type of plant or grade of leaf. Instead, the law prohibits only certain concentrations of THC and other compounds in the plant.

As a result, you can find both low-THC plants and high-THC ones at most dispensaries. Some even sell plants that have been artificially boosted in THC content.

Know what you’re buying

What Does

It’s important to know what “top shelf” cannabis products are, or are not. There are several criteria that determine whether a cannabis product is top shelf: how expensive it is, how powerful it is said to be, and who says it is.

Most highly priced cannabis products are high-quality flowers or extracts. These may be imported or produced in a factory, rather than being formed into plants and cultivated manually.

In contrast, cheap weed generally does not contain quality materials such as flower or extraction such as cannabis butter or oil. More likely, you will get a roll-up of marijuana leaves or hashish that looks like coffee grounds.

As stated before, there are some criteria that do not mean the same thing for all types of weed.
